A hard reset, also known as a factory reset, will delete all information on a device and restore the software back to it’s original manufacturer settings. A hard reset should only be done if absolutely necessary as it removes all data from your device. Perform a hard reset if your ZTE Blade A521 is experiencing any of the following issues:

  • Forgot your password
  • Constant freezing
  • Crashing applications
  • Touchscreen Issues
  • Can’t hear
  • Can’t make or receive calls
  • Sync issues
  • Sound issues

 

First Method

 

Step 1

Ensure that your ZTE Blade A521 is turned off by pressing the power button.

Step 2

 

Press and hold the Volume Up Button + Power button, until you see ZTE logo. Once the ZTE logo appears, release all buttons and wait for the Android Recovery screen to appear.

Step 3

When the Boot Mode appears, select Recovery. Use the Volume Up button to navigate and the Volume Down button to confirm.

Step 4

When the Android Robot appears, press and hold the Power button. While holding the power button press and release the Volume Up button

 

Step 5

 

From the Android Recovery Mode menu select “wipe data / factory reset“.

Use the Volume buttons to navigate and the Power button to confirm.

Step 6

 

Next, scroll down to “yes” and press the power button to confirm the factory reset.

Step 7

 

Select the “reboot system now” to reboot your device..

Congratulations! The device has been restored to factory defaults.

 

Second Method
Step 1

Power on your device by pressing the power button

 

 

Step 2

From the Home Screen go to Settings and then Advance Settings.

Step 3

Click on Backup & reset.

Step 4

Find and select Reset Device.

Step 5

Click on Erase everything to confirm.

Congratulations! The device has been restored to factory defaults.
